Photorama: Top Nollywood Stars At The Maiden Edition Of Samodun Festival With Gov. Ajimobi

 DETERMINED to gear up the tourism sensibilities of the people of Oyo  State stoking in particular the economic benefits of cultural – tourism activities,  Governor Abiola Ajimobi has approved the hosting of cultural – tourism fiesta which will be staged in sequential order throughout the year.

According to investigation , Governor Ajimobi, enamored by  a  proposal submitted by the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism which expatiated on how the cultural- tourism potentialities of the state could  be explored to   raise awareness  and empower the people profitably has endorsed the hosting of Samodun fiesta.

Thus, the Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism in response to this , debute with the Samodun Fiesta 

The Oyo Ministry of Culture and Tourism  poised for world class hosting a fiesta which will not only  be  sustainable, but  of public acceptance in the spirit of Public – Private engagement is collaborating with Franchise Enterprise Concern ,  an event management firm  to package the three-day fiesta .

 Samodun fiesta entails Ajumorin (walk for life )  Governor Ajimobi  trekking some streets of Ibadan with Nollywood stars , eminent personalities and the  common people , sharing with them his programmes  in a socially  interactive forum  which has never been  being done in Oyo State before.

According to Wale Williams, CEO, Franchise Enterprise Concern  “the main purpose of  Ajumorin is to bring to bare to the ordinary man on the street  his importance in the act of governance . It is to tell the common people that without them actively participating and supporting the programme of the government, there could be no serious development . It is also a means of telling the people that they do not only matter in the scheme of governance but that it is about their cooperation, loyalty and support. It will also strengthen the fact that decision making is not limited to debates and counter arguments in a cozy office, but modulated by feelers from the people who walk together, “as people who walk together can reason together.”

Ajumorin which will be the official opening of Samodun fiesta will be buffeted with a film show which showcases the rich cultural and tourism potentialities of Oyo State, while the Governor will present gift items to participants.

Funke Akindele-O, Odunlade Adekola, Olayiwola Razaq aka Ojopagogo and more attend the maiden edition of the Samodun Festival, with Governor Abiola Ajimobi expressing commitment to the promotion of the culture and tradition of the Yoruba race, kicked off by the Nigeria’s Oyo State Government a few weeks back.
