Woman Scalds Hubby Over First Wife

A woman scalded her husband in fury over his first wife. Tafadzwa Mundove (17) who resides at house number 44 Mbizi Road could not stomach the visit of her husband’s first wife at their place of residence.

She overreacted as she told the court and scalded her husband. As a result she was arrested after injuring the husband Simbarashe Mlambo (25) while he was in deep sleep. She stood in the dock before Mbare magistrate Precious Muzondo charged with physical abuse.

She pleaded guilty to the charge citing that she could not contain her emotions. Magistrate Muzondo remanded her in custody as she awaits her sentence.

The state had it that on February 20, at around 12pm Simbarashe’s first wife visited him at his place of residence where she intended to advise him about the sickness of the child. It is the state’s case that this did not go down well with Tafadzwa who confronted her husband and started shouting at him.

She accused him of putting dirt in the house.

On February 21, at around 7am Tafadzwa then locked Simbarashe inside the house while she went to work. An unidentified man from the neighbourhood came to his rescue and unlocked the door. He got his freedom and left the premises until in the evening.

According to the state Simbarashe returned home at around 7pm and found Tafadzwa home but did not talk to her and went on to lie on the bed.

Circumstances are that Tafadzwa took a pot of boiling cooking oil and poured it over the unsuspecting Simbarashe’s body. Simbarashe was taken to hospital and medically examined. The medical affidavit was produced in court as evidence.
