Shocking Moment 'Shoplifter' Fell 20ft Through Second Floor Window of Exclusive London Store Molton Brown 'After Being Pursued by Police'

The man, believed to be aged 60, dropped from a second-floor glass window onto a street packed with workers while he was allegedly being pursued by police in the City of London yesterday morning. He threw a chair through the window on Threadneedle Street before attempting to climb out onto the ledge of the Royal Exchange and falling onto the pavement outside a branch of Molton Brown. One witness revealed hearing smashing and screams, and saw 'quite a lot of blood' on the pavement - while another admitted the man 'looked in a bad way to me' following the fall.


This is the shocking moment a suspected shoplifter crashes through a window above an exclusive London store before falling to the ground.
The man - believed to be aged 60 - dropped from a glass window onto a street busy with City workers while he was allegedly being pursued by police yesterday morning.
He threw a chair through the window on Threadneedle Street, opposite the Bank of England, before attempting to climb out onto the ledge of the Royal Exchange and falling onto the pavement outside a branch of Molton Brown.

One witness revealed hearing smashing and screams, and saw 'quite a lot of blood' on the pavement - while another admitted the man 'looked in a bad way to me' following the fall.
A local worker told The Daily Telegraph: 'Security or police were chasing him and he managed to get inside the shop and upstairs where he used the chair to smash the window of the shop.
'He started to climb out, but fell and somersaulted through the air where he landed on his back.'
