Most of you might not know him, but Razak Adetunji Adeniyi, a.k.a Tunji Alaaso is a popular socialite and hotelier, and he is dead.

Tunji who is popularly called ‘Alhaji Gay’ was killed this morning in his car on his way to his house around Moshalasi bus stop, in Killington Alagbado area.

Until his death, he was a very powerful man who was feared by all. Alhaji Gay is popularly known for posing as an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC agent to extort bribes from and ‘arrest’ fraudsters involved in cyber crimes – the yahoo boys.

However, on different accounts, the EFCC has denied that he was working on behalf of the anti-corruption body. The Yahoo Boys are now out in the streets celebrating the death of one of their most dreaded nemesis.

One Yahoo Boy, Henry said:

“This man [Alhaji Gay] is a thief….He came for me and he did not see me, but arrested my friends and demanded for 2 million naira and we paid him 800,000 naira.

But still he went to Ghana to arrest my friends there…Please Ibadan police just shot this man because if they release him, I’m sure Lagos police will protect him because they both work together.”

Another Yahoo boy, Ayobami said:

“This guy must be properly dealt with or else be ready for a civil war in Nigeria cos I know someone this Alhaji Gay had arrested illegally and collected 2.5 million from the person and eventually killed the guy.

Please this guy is a killer.”

His boys are said to have hit the streets vouching that they will bring down the killers of their boss, but at the moment, soldiers have been deployed to his two hotels and trying to restore peace.

Since this incident happened, Agbado residents have been thrown into a state of confusion as noise of gunshots reportedly sends residents scampering for safety while commercial activities have greatly reduced. One of the reasons the situation is so bad is that some residents allege that due to Alhaji Gay’s popularity, his boys may want to carry out reprisal attacks.
