500 Nigerians Deported From The UK Arrive Lagos [Photos]



About 500 Nigerian deporteel arrive Nigeria from the United Kingdom this morning aboard a chartered flight.

The chartered flight, according to Leadership, was expected to take off from London Stansted airport via a private charter company, Titan Airways.

It was confirmed that the flight was scheduled to depart from the United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 24, at about 10.30pm Nigerian time to land in Lagos on Wednesday, November 25 at about 6.00am.



This move is a monthly exercise by the UK government, in which about 100 detainees from the UK are deported to their respective countries via charter flights commonly run by Titan Airways.


Latest reports monitored on the BBC inform that the plane carrying about 500 Nigerians deported from the UK has landed in Lagos.

According to the report, most of the deportees expressed their sadness to return to the country.


One of the deportees stated that he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported.

It was gathered that some of the deportees who claimed not to have relatives in Nigeria are stranded in the airport.

Authorities in Nigeria had expressed their concern over UK’s plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians, and has insisted that due process be followed before Nigerians are removed from the UK.
