JARED FOGLE SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE

Jared Fogle Sentenced To 15 Years In Child Pornography Case

Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15.5 years in federal prison Thursday, Reuters reports.
In August Fogle agreed to plead to child pornography and sex charges after striking a plea deal with prosecutors for a sentence ranging from 5 to 12 ½ years. However, Judge Tanya Walton Pratt was not legally bound by the deal and chose to go for a heftier sentence.

Fogle will be required to serve at least 85% of his sentence, which means he will likely be released in 2029 when he is 51. He was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervision and a $175,000 fine. Fogle was taken into custody by a U.S. Marshall after he was sentenced. The defense argued that his compulsive eating disorder was replaced by hypersexuality.
“He traded a horrible food addiction for a horrible sex addiction,” said defense attorney Jeremy Margolis.
As previously reported 12 of Fogle’s child pornography victims have been identified in Indiana in addition to two child prostitution victims in New York.
