Notorious serial rapist Badoo met his death yesterday after he was lynched by an angry mob for raping an 8-year-old girl in Ikorodu.
Badoo, who was notorious for raping women and wiping their privates with a white handkerchief, first made headlines last month when he raped a Ghanaian woman and stabbed her to death in Ibeshe community in Ikorodu. The woman’s death had caused residents to protest for his arrest and a few weeks later, he was captured by some members of the community and handed over to the police.
After his arrest, the police released a statement assuring that the rapist Badoo was in their custody and will be charged to court soon. However, the suspected rapist appeared to have been released as he was named an accomplice in a recent rape incident involving a 60-year-old woman and her 10-year-old child.
Now, it is being reported that Badoo was caught, once again yesterday, by residents of Ikorodu after he reportedly raped an 8-year-old girl. Unfortunately, the members of the community decided to take justice into their own hands and burnt the suspected rapist to death.
His death draws a lot of questions like, why was he was on the loose after the police assured the public he was in their custody?
Meanwhile Nigerians have reacted to Badoo’s death and many are rejoicing. Some also suggested that some rich men who use the white handkerchief for rituals may have bribed the police to release him from their custody.
