The Welsh Minnows With A Nation Of Three Million Reach Their First Ever Semi-Final - David Cameron's Attempt to Congratulate Wales Doesn't Go Down Well on Twitter.

David Cameron's attempt to congratulate Wales doesn't go down well
Goals from Ashley Williams (middle inset), Hal Robson-Kanu (pictured left) and Sam Vokes (top right inset) gave Wales a famous win in Lille, seeing them into the next round of the tournament where they are the only remaining British side following England, Ireland and Northern Ireland's exit at the round of 16 stage. Robson-Kanu, who hasn't even got a club side after being let go by Reading this summer, along with Burnley's Vokes have put England's pampered Premier League players to shame by firing their country of three million into the semi-finals of the tournament.

The famous victory (shown main image) was made all the sweeter by the goalscorers, who earn modest wages compared to the likes of England captain Wayne Rooney (bottom right inset), earning £260,000 a week. The difference in wage between the managers is even more stark, with Roy Hodgson (shown right) among the best paid managers in the world before his departure, having been paid £68,000, while Chris Coleman (pictured top left inset) earns just £4,200 a week in comparison.

David Cameron came in for a barrage of abuse on social media after tweeting (left inset) his admiration of the Wales team after their stunning win against Belgium in the quarter-finals of the Euros. The outgoing British Prime Minister's Twitter account posted a message which praised the Red Dragon's for their performance in beating the Belgians 3-1 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille.

However the rallying cry seemed to go down like a lead balloon with Twitter users in Wales, who were quick to chastise him for 'jumping on the bandwagon' in supporting the Welsh (right inset). The internet was awash with memes and funny Tweets in the aftermath of the famous win, in which Wales secured passage to the semi-finals of the Euros 2016. Welsh fans in Lille (right), Wales (left) and across the world were emotional, as they celebrated the historic victory.
