Police Man Who Fatally Shot An Okada Rider In Ondo State, Arrested, To Charged For Murder


The Nigerian police force has finally identified and arrested the police officer who shot dead an Okada rider in Ondo state over N50 bribe.

On 4th September, 2016 at about 6:00pm along Odigbo-Omifon road within Ore Division in Ondo State, Inspr. Anthony Nwadike who led a police patrol team on nipping point along the said road allegedly shot and killed one commercial motorcycle rider (names withheld) following an altercation. The said Inspector has since been arrested and his service rifle recovered. The Case is under investigation.

The Orderly-Room trial (Departmental Court) of this arrested Inspector is expected to be concluded today Tuesday, 6th September 2016, so as to pave way for his criminal prosecution for Murder in the law court within the next 48hrs.

The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command has since opened a direct line of communication /contact with the families of the victim and the community. The Ondo State Police Command is also providing necessary palliative to concerned relatives and persons at this period.
